What do you need to do?
Step 1: Name Your Civilization:
You need to pick a name for your civilization. It needs to be creative and original. Simply using your name will not be acceptable. Once you have picked a name for your civilization, you will need to create your Wiki at www.wikispaces.com.
Step 2: Geography-Pick a location for your civilization:
You will need to pick a location on the world map to place the land of your civilization. Using the Online World Atlas website listed below, find the degrees of Latitude and Longitude of where you land is placed. When choosing your spot, you must consider and answer these two questions:
1) How will your civilization sustain crops and livestock?
2) How will your civilization sustain and defend itself against attacks from enemies?

Step 3: Drawing a Visual of your Civilization:
To create an image of your civilization you will be using the free drawing tools on DabbleBoard. You can upload an image or shape and draw over top of it or draw by freehand. Your DabbleBoard should be able to be uploaded or linked to your Wiki for me to see on your final project. On your image you should include the following elements:
-Body of Water (rivers, lakes, etc)
-Town Square
-Market
-Government Buildings (Palace, Court, Capital)
-Villages or Houses
-Farmland area
-Roads
Be as creative as possible with this. Your image should be unique and original to you and your civilization.

Step 4: Population of your Civilization:
You will need to choose a population size for your civilization. It needs to be something realistic for a society. For example, 6 billion people or 1 person is not realistic. Hint: A good number would be between 10,000-50,000 people.
Step 5: Choosing a Government for your Civilization:
You will need to choose a form of government to rule in your Civilization. The 4 types of government that you have to choose from are:
1) Monarchy-government in which a royal family rules the nation (King-Queen)
2) Oligarchy-government in which a small group of “important” people rule a nation
3)Democracy-government in which people make important decisions for their own
nation; this is usually done through representatives
4 Theocracy-government in which a God or gods rule through people because the whole
country shares the same religion; this is usually done through priests.
After choosing a form of government answer these questions:
1. Why did you choose this type of government?
2. How will the government run in a manner that helps the civilization?
You will then need to come up with a list of 5 Laws for your Civilization. These need to be well thought out.

Step 6: Choosing Resources for the Civilization:
You need to name at least 3 crops that you will grow and 2 animals that you will raise in your civilization to help sustain food supply.
Step 7: Choosing Occupations and Currency:
You will need to come up with at least 5 occupations that workers in your civilization can do to sustain it's economy. You will also need to come with a form of currency for your civilization. This cannot be a current form of currency in the World (aka come up with a fun name for it).
Step 8: Putting the information on the Wiki:
You will need to transfer and organize the above information on your Wiki in a manner that is easy to understand and read. Using different fonts and colors in your Wiki is encouraged as well. Making your project visually appealing does count.
Once you have finished with your wiki, make it public for anyone to see and submit the url address into the submission box, located on the EVALUATION page, which you can access at the top of this page.
